We came on board to rework the original architectural designs which didn’t make best use of the space or fit with the client’s lifestyle. After listening to the client we put their ideas into perspective and budget and translated their wishes into new designs that re-transformed the project. The client chose us to oversee the entire project from concept to completion, using our highly trusted trades and suppliers.
When working with period properties our goal is to breathe new life into the interiors with our modern way of life, whilst respecting the history and original features of these gracious buildings. However, in this case, the original features had been stripped out and replaced with 80’s pine doors and architraves. The house required a complete refurbishment to be it in line with 21st Century regulations including a new layout of the rear and main staircase to the 1st and 2nd floor.
Storage, like most houses these days, was an issue, so intricate joinery was designed and created sympathetically for the re-installation of Georgian paneling to the walls on the ground floor and stairs, allowing us to create hidden coat cupboards in the Entrance Hall. All new doors, skirtings, architraves, wardrobes, dressing rooms and radiator cases were bespoke for each space and made by our joiners from our CAD designs.
